Home Cafe

My spouse and I protect exactly one ritual every morning: coffee, before either of us starts thinking about the day ahead. It's less about the coffee and more about the ten minutes it buys us together. We also can't sit still on how we make it: pour over one week, french press the next, whatever the aeropress feels like that day. That kind of variety stopped fitting on a corner of the counter, so I'm giving it an actual space of its own.

It helps well beyond just the two of us too. When friends come over, I'd rather hand them a real station than a kettle and a jar of instant: everyone picks their own brew, tries something new, has something to do with their hands while we catch up.

Branding a home coffee corner is a little absurd, and that's fine, I did it because I could, and I used AI to try a few names before landing on one. The name itself is just arithmetic: two people, one cup each, two good coffees. That's the whole story: Two Good.

The brand
Two Good brand board: wordmark with interlocking O's, heading font Recoleta and supporting font Satoshi, a six-color palette (olive, sage, cream, clay, mocha, taupe) with hex codes, an explanation of what each mark means, and the identity applied to the station counter, a coffee jar, a matcha bowl, and a menu clipboard

The wordmark, palette, and fonts: Recoleta and Satoshi, a six-color palette with real hex codes, and what each mark means. Still AI-generated concept work, nothing physical yet. Full story and naming journey are on the branding page.

I worked out the actual plan with our interior design team: a dedicated wall instead of a shared counter, dark coffee-wood cabinetry, a sage-matcha stone backdrop, open shelving instead of a cupboard. The layout is final, and I'm building it for real. I've locked in the equipment stack itself:

Brewing

  • Pour over
  • French press
  • Aeropress
  • Moka pot
  • Siphon

Espresso & Grinding

  • Espresso machine
  • Grinder

Accessories

  • Bean tubes
  • Matcha whisk

In the lineup On the list

Next, I'm adding a matcha ritual alongside the coffee, mostly because it fits the color scheme a little too well. I rotate the coffees as we try new ones, see the full coffee list for what's actually been good, though not everything makes that list right away. I give friends and family on anything new before it's ever official.

Where things stand

  • The name: Two Good
  • Wordmark, logo, typography, and color palette
  • Full brand board: signage, cups, tins, tag, and menu mockups
  • Interior design plan for the station wall
  • Pour over, french press, aeropress, and espresso machine, in the lineup
  • Building the physical space
  • Moka pot, siphon, grinder, bean tubes, and matcha whisk
  • Start the matcha ritual
  • Real photos of the space and the mockups, once it exists
  • twogood.coffee, once there's an actual door to open

This page is ever evolving. I'll keep adding to it as the café actually comes together.
